A man has been charged after a person was found unresponsive in the West Auckland suburb of Massey on Friday night.
Police said a 59-year-old man was found unresponsive at a residential property about 9.20pm.
Medical attention was immediately provided but the man subsequently died, police said.
A 40-year-old man at the property was taken into custody.
He has been charged with common assault and is scheduled to appear in Waitākere District Court on Saturday.
Police said inquiries into the death were ongoing.
