Police in Dunedin are calling for information after a report of a suspicious approach of a young girl at a playground.
The girl's parents reported a Pākehā man in his 50s or 60s approached their four-year-old daughter at the Ocean Grove Playground in Dunedin's south on Wednesday afternoon.
Sergeant Anthony Bond said the man, who is of medium build and height, unshaven, and had two small dogs, spoke to the child and patted her on the head, then left without speaking to the parents when they confronted him.
Officers would like to identify the man.
