Niue is planning to ban vaping.
Acting Premier Billy Talagi made the announcement at the Pasifika Medical Conference held on the island late last month.
The use of vaping is quite prevalent among Niuean youth and those who have given up smoking.
Mr Talagi said Niue had made progress in some areas of public health, particularly in tobacco control, which included a nearly 240 percent lift in the price of cigarettes at the end of last year, reported TV Niue.
While Niue had one of the lowest rates of smoking in the Pacific, the government was determined to prevent young people from taking up the habit for as long as possible.
He told the conference he was pleased to announce the government's plan to ban vaping in Niue.
