Accused in car boot death named

Most of the people charged in relation to the death of a woman who escaped from the boot of a car while bound and gagged can now be named.

Jindarat Prutsiriporn died in Middlemore Hospital after falling from the boot of a moving car in Papatoetoe in March.

The 50-year-old had links to Auckland's crime scene.

Joseph Haurua, Seng Liev, Luigi Havea, Sodarith Sao, Masi Vaifale and Apichart Korhomklang face charges of manslaughter and kidnapping.

Four others, Becoylee Palea'asina, Tevita Fangupo, Panepasa Havea and a woman with name suppression face charges of kidnapping.

All have pleaded not guilty.

Justice Lang set a trial date for May next year.
