The sea wall at Dunedin's St Clair Esplanade is once again under attack from heavy waves.

Heavy seas have further damaged the ramps between the esplanade, and the sea, so much that work began this morning to remove them.
Crews working on strengthening the sea wall noticed further damage to the access way, according to Dunedin City Council roading maintenance engineer Peter Standring.
Mr Standring believes erosion from a strong southerly swell is a constant problem for the seawall on Dunedin's St Clair beach, and he said there had been extensive consultation about the future of the area.
"It's too early to put a dollar figure on what this current work will cost," he said.
