Thieves have targeted community club rooms in the Horowhenua town of Foxton Beach during lockdown.
The Foxton Beach Club Rooms and Bowling Club on Seabury Avenue have been burgled twice in the past few weeks.
The club rooms were used by the Senior Citizens Club and would have been a safe haven to socialise in the next few months.
On both occasions, windows were smashed and many items were stolen.
President of the Foxton Beach Senior Citizens Club, Dave Neary, went to clear the mail box a few weeks ago and checked on the club rooms to find they had been burgled.
He said they had a number of items taken.
"Stupid items were pinched, a mobile phone used for emergencies, some pool cues, some curtain traps and they took some frozen food out of the freezer but they didn't take it all."
Just 10 days later, the thieves struck again.
The club will be relying on donations in order to pay for repairs and to replace the stolen items.
"It's very devastating because it means a $1500 insurance excess, which is money that we don't have," Neary said.
A Give-A-Little page has been set up and more than $2000 has already been donated.
