Cooks hospitals not ready for meth treatment

Health authorities in the Cook Islands say they would be unable to deal with cases that could come their way as a result of methamphetamine abuse.

Health secretary Josephine Herman said the drug poses a real danger, but the country's hospitals are not ready or equipped to deal with it.

Dr Herman said preventative measures needed to be taken against the drug's effects.
