A light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Tauranga Airport this morning after the pilot reported problems with the landing gear.
An engineer spoke with the pilot while the four-seater aircraft was in the air, and he was able to get the landing gear to come down and lock.
Tauranga City Council said fire trucks were waiting at the airport, but were not needed as the plane was able to land safely.
There were no passengers on board.
