McCullum declared fit for second ODI

17:13 pm on 3 February 2009

The New Zealand wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum has been declared fit to play in Friday's second Chappell-Hadlle cricket one-dayer against Australia in Melbourne.

Team manager Lindsay Crocker says McCullum's hip flexor had responded well to treatment since it was injured in training last week.

Gareth Hopkins will return home to New Zealand after being called in as cover.

But a decision on whether he returns to cover for McCullum will be made on Saturday.
