A hostel at Ōtorohanga College was closed out of fear whānau members could have been exposed to a person with Covid-19.

However, Waikato District Health Board said there was minimal risk of Covid-19 exposure at the school hostel.
A person who caught a flight from Auckland to Wellington with a confirmed case - a worker from the Defence Force - later attended a meeting with students from Ōtorohanga College.
A post on the the Waikato school's Facebook page said "a positive Covid case was on a flight out of Wellington to Hamilton" where the exposure could have happened.
It said the whānau members then attended a community meeting in Kawhia.
"As a precaution, and in the interest of keeping safe, we are asking everyone who has had contact with anyone at the meeting to urgently get Covid tested and to isolate until you get a negative test.
"The hostel will be temporarily closed until we can ensure it is safe to reopen."
It said anyone who had had contact with people in the area's coastal communities in the past day should get tested and remain isolated.
The health board said the person on the flight was considered a casual contact, with minimal risk of exposure, and the school had been advised it could operate as normal.
The Waikato DHB's laboratory has since returned negative Covid-19 results from all the day's testing.
That includes the individual identified as a casual contact of a case on a flight from Auckland to Wellington on 5 November.
