Cold weather has been affecting farm production in parts of the North Island.
Country Life reports production per cow for some herds in Waikato is 20% down on where it should be.
In Taranaki, production is 10% behind on a daily basis and 7% down for the month. The season to date is 4% behind.
However, a "dream spring" in Canterbury continued this week with two good rains and some warm weather in between.
Production is 7% ahead of last year but bloat has been an issue.
Milk production in Northland is 20% to 25% ahead of last season.
