Papua New Guinea has given Fiji until today to lift a ban on Ox & Palm corned beef or risk an import ban on Fiji products.
The trade minister Richard Maru said he had written an official letter with his ultimatum and had it sent to the Fiji High Commission which acknowledged its receipt.
However, Fiji's trade minister Faiyaz Koya said he hadn't received the letter and denied there was a ban on PNG corned beef.
Mr Koya invited Mr Maru for talks in Fiji but Maru said if Fiji wanted more discussions, Mr Koya could fly to PNG.
Mr Koya said the two countries had not established bilateral biosecurity arrangement for some goods.
He says there are no importers in Fiji who applied to import the PNG products, such as Ox & Palm corned beef.
