As Covid-19 spreads around the world, it can be daunting keeping up with the information. For RNZ, our responsibility is to give you verified, up to the minute, trustworthy information to help you make decisions about your lives and your health. The Prime Minister has announced New Zealand will move out of level 4 lockdown in a week, extending the level 4 restrictions for a further five days beyond the original end date.
After that, the country will be in a level three alert status for at least two weeks.
Businesses and schools will be able to access their premises to prepare for level 3, but will not resume trading until next Tuesday.
Next Tuesday will also be a teacher-only day, before schools resume teaching some students in classrooms the following day.
