The flow of postal votes in Auckland has dipped below the last local body election, putting the target turnout of 40 percent at risk.

The turnout has reached 28 percent with just two days remaining, compared with 26 percent at the same time three years ago.
But, for the past two days, the percentage of votes received has slightly trailed the 2013 trend, and could be tracking towards a final tally of 37 percent.
Voting is strongest in the rural north, at nearly 40 percent around Warkworth and 35 percent in the centre-right stronghold of Orakei.
It was lowest in the south, with Manurewa and Otara on 21 percent.
