The fifth planet from the sun - Jupiter - is the closest it's been to earth since 1963. And, Nasa's Dart spacecraft has crashed into an asteroid that was travelling at 22 and a half thousand kilometres an hour - an exercise designed to save humanity from an asteroid strike. Astronomer Dr Ian Griffin tell Karyn what's going on in the sky.

In this image obtained from NASA and taken by the James Webb Space Telescope, shows Jupiter in a wide-field view, showing the planet with its faint rings, which are a million times fainter than the planet, and two tiny moons called Amalthea (L) and Adrastea at the edge of the ring .
