Carlton Brewery Fiji and Lautoka-based South Pacific Distilleries have merged to form Fosters Group Pacific Limited.
The new company, which will also include the Apia-based Samoa Breweries, has a total valuation of 85-million US dollars.
After some initial objections, minority shareholders of South Pacific Distilleries approved the merger and accepted one share in the new company for each 400,000 shares they had held.
It's the first time that two companies listed on the Suva-based South Pacific Stock Exchange have merged.
