A person has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after they were hit by a truck on State Highway 10 near Awanui in Northland.

The crash was reported at 2.50pm.
The highway is currently closed between Kumi Road and Church Road and Northland police have set up diversions.
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified and an investigation will be starting.
Motorists can expect delays.
