Former Olympic rowing champion Rob Waddell has found himself between a rock and a hard place with secondary school sports groups over a an initiative to broadcasting more school sport.
But does Waddell's New Zealand Sports Collective, which gives Sky TV exclusive rights to stream or broadcast school tournaments, and matches, have the interests of young athletes at heart?
Or is it just about making money?
Does it put greater pressure on teenage athletes to succeed or does it help keep kids in sport, grow participation numbers and help fund youth sports events trhoughout the country?
Joining RNZ's Joe Porter on the Extra Time podcast this week are Rob Waddell, Roger Mortimer from the NZ Athletes Federation, the Auckland Grammar School principal Tim O'Connor and Stuff journalist Jackson Thomas.
