A teenager has been charged with murder following a death in central Auckland on Wednesday evening.
Police said a guard would remain in place at the address in Epsom as they carry out enquiries into the sudden death.
The 19-year-old and his alleged victim were known to one another, Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Armstrong said.
"As such, police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this matter. We would like to reassure the community this appears to be an isolated incident."
The accused will appear in Auckland District Court on Thursday.
