Lincoln University has chosen a former Christchurch man, at present working in the UK, as its new vice-chancellor.
Robin Pollard will start work at the university in March.
He is deputy vice-chancellor at the University of Central Lancashire in England, having worked in several universities around the world.
Professor Pollard is originally from Christchurch and got his doctorate at Canterbury University.
He replaces Andrew West, who left the university last year.
