The Australian government says it will provide the Federated States of Micronesia with $US76,000 dollars in aid following Typhoon Maysak.

The states of Chuuk and Yap suffered fatalities and extensive damage in the typhoon.

The aid will go to the International Organisation for Migration for humanitarian supplies - including shelter materials and tools, hygiene kits and logistical support.
