Armed police were called to a Dunedin house and a man has come down from a roof following an incident earlier in the day.
Police were called to Neidpath Road, in the suburb of Mornington, at 4.30pm on Friday.
An Otago Daily Times reporter at the scene said at 9.30pm there was a large police presence, including members of the armed offenders squad.
A man had been on the roof for a time but had come down by then.
Firefighters could be seen with a ladder and a stretcher, and St John Ambulance staff were also at the scene.
A witness told the ODT the man had allegedly broken into a neighbour's house earlier in the day.
It was not known if anyone was injured.
A cordon was set up at the intersection of Neidpath Road and Glen Road about 5.15pm, leaving some people unable to return home for a time.
