A person has died after being struck by a vehicle on Auckland's Southern Motorway.
Police said a pedestrian had died at the scene and the driver was assisting them with their enquiries.
The Serious Crash Unit was also investigating.
Northbound lanes of the Southern Motorway between East Tamaki Road and Princes Street were closed following the crash - which occurred around 5.20am - but have since reopened.
Waka Kotahi said motorists should continue to expect some delays.
A second crash, at Spaghetti Junction, had also caused some congestion for southbound SH1 traffic back to the Fanshawe Street off-ramp, Waka Kotahi said.
While all southbound lanes between Symonds Street and Khyber Pass Road had now reopened, motorists should continue to expect some delays.
In a separate incident, just before midday a crash involving multiple cars resulted in the left lane of the motorway being blocked between Gillies Avenue and Khyber Pass Road. The lane has now reopened.
