The Papua New Guinea National Court has granted a judicial review to the ousted chief secretary of Bougainville.
Joseph Nobetau was nudged out in August by the Bougainville president, John Momis, who claimed he was was working against the autonomous region's interests.
But Mr Nobetau says his dismissal was unconstitutional, and the allegations raised against him defamatory.
Today, the National Court granted Mr Nobetau leave to seek a review of the government's decision.
