A man is still missing after a dinghy overturned in Wairoa River, Hawke's Bay.
Two of the three people on board made it to shore and alerted police about 5.30pm.
Police Search and Rescue, Surf Life Saving and two helicopters were involved in the search for the remaining person.
His family is being helped by Victim Support.
The search is expected to resume at first light tomorrow.
