Opposition calls on Fiji PM to explain Chinese repatriations

Fij's opposition says the government should disclose the full facts surrounding a mass deportation of suspected scammers from Fiji to China.

China published pictures at the weekend of 77 people wearing hoods being herded off a chartered flight by Chinese police last week.  

The Fiji government has so far not commented, but in a statement the Fiji police said the month long, joint operation complied with relevant laws.

The leader of the opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa says the government's been withholding vital information from the public when safety and security are at stake.

The leader of the National Federation Party Biman Prasad told Koroi Hawkins prime minister Frank Bainimarama has a responsibility to inform the people of Fiji what happened.
