A man charged with a raft of offences after a firearms incident in Waikanae yesterday has appeared in court.
Shortly before 8 o'clock yesterday morning court documents state he fired a shotgun at two properties in Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast.
Police say he also shot at an officer, aimed the weapon at a member of the public, and stole a number of vehicles.
The 32-year-old was arrested a short time later.
He faces 15 charges including kidnapping, discharging a firearm, aggravated robbery, using a firearm against police, threatening to kill, and stealing cars.
He remained in the cells during this morning's short hearing at Porirua District Court, and has been remanded in custody until next week.
His name is suppressed for now.
