A person has been left in a critical condition after a two-vehicle crash south of Hokitika.
The individual has been taken to Greymouth Hospital.
Police were alerted to the crash on State Highway 6 between Ruatapu and Takutai, shortly before 4pm.
Waka Kotahi said the road was blocked north of the Shanghai Road intersection.
