Roy Krishna has signed a one-year deal with Indian football side ATK, the former Wellington Phoenix star tweeted today.
The A-League's player of the season in 2019, announced last month he wouldn't be re-signing with the Phoenix.
The 31-year-old Fijian international tweeted that "140 years ago, my ancestors came to Fiji from Kolkata in search of better opportunities.
"Today marks the start of a similar journey as I join ATKFC in the Hero India Super League. To go back to where it all began," he said.
Krishna spent five and a half seasons at the Phoenix and netted a league-best 19 goals in the 2018-19 season, which netted him the golden boot award.
That tally also made him the club's all-time leading scorer with 51 goals.
