A 34-year-old man has been charged after a teenager was shot in the South Auckland suburb of Ōtara on Friday night.
The 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with a serious gun shot wound and underwent surgery.
He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
The man is facing a charge of wounding and the police are not ruling out the possibility of further charges.
He will appear in the Manukau District Court today.
