The New Zealand cricketers have thrashed the West Indies by 81 runs at Eden Park, in the first of two Twenty20 internationals.
The Black Caps won the toss and chose to bat, reaching 189 for five thanks to a a rapid-fire unbroken stand of 85 for the sixth wicket between the captain Brendon McCullum and wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi.
McCullum was 60 not out and Ronchi 48 after the hosts' 20 overs, while in reply the visitors could only manage 108 for eight.
Nathan McCullum, in his 50th T20, took four wickets for 24 runs with James Neesham taking three for 16.
The second and final Twenty20 is in Wellington on Wednesday.
