Vanuatu Teachers Union confident of pay fix

The Vanuatu Teachers Union says it's confident parliament will approve payment of about $US9 million to settle a dispute over pay scale anomalies and outstanding benefits.

However, a branch of the teachers union has grown impatient and is calling for a strike.

The union's president, Willie Abiut, told Ben Robinson Drawbridge industrial action is not yet necessary.
