Random drug testing of American Samoa government employees is one of the recommendations from a committee looking at ways to combat the drug problem in the territory.
The committee hopes to finalise its action plan by the end of the week with a presentation to Governor Lolo Moliga.
A member of the group, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the committee was making a strong recommendation for the testing of government employees.
The Attorney General's Office is being asked to review whether such a decision can be achieved through an executive order or whether legislation is needed.
