Working at Resn

A tertiary education is no longer enough to guarantee you a job. So what are recruiters looking for when faced with a pile of CVs, and what can you do to make yourself stand out? The Wireless talked to recruiters at some of the best and most desirable workplaces in New Zealand.

The creative digital agency Resn, which has studios in Wellington and Amsterdam, describes itself as being in the business of turning “fruitful ideas” into “interactive chutney”. The 20-strong company actively recruits staff from overseas, and partners with some of the world’s leading brands and advertising agencies, like Saatchi & Saatchi, Adobe, Myspace and MTV, to maximise the potential of interactive technologies in digital design. So far this year, it’s added two Atlanta Addy Awards, an Adobe Cutting Edge Award and five Favourite Website Awards to its already laden cabinet, which is “so full they pay a guy just to stand and lean against its door” – leaving the “smug folk at Resn just a little smugger,” as StopPressSim Ahmed wrote in January.
