The big-serving American blasted 16 aces and will play the Czech fifth seed Radek Stepanek, who eliminated Israeli qualifier Dudi Sela in straight sets.
The $2.4 million event also features a later women's final matching Danish top seed Caroline Wozniacki and second seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus.
