Two visitors to an Auckland prison have been arrested after they were caught carrying thousands of dollars worth of drugs and cash in their car.
Nineteen grams of methamphetamine and more than $11,000 in cash were found by detector dogs as the pair tried to enter the Serco-run Auckland South Corrections Facility on Saturday.
Corrections say prisoners' families and friends can feel pressured to bring contraband items into prison, but they should be reminded there are significant consequences of doing so.
