The Tinian-based Star Marianas Air will inaugurate its Rota-Guam service on October the 16th following the long-awaited opening of the Light Aircraft Commuter Facility at Guam's Won Pat Guam International Airport.

The airline's president, Shaun Christian, says the twice-daily scheduled flights will use twin engine Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftains, which feature air-conditioning and upgraded GPS navigation systems.

He says the Light Aircraft Commuter Facility is located west of the Guam International Airport terminal.

The facility is for light aircraft of 5.6 tonnes or less and is exempt from Transportation Security Administration security mandates such as passenger screening.
