Strong winds across Auckland harbour have prevented a cruise ship from berthing in the city.
The Majestic Princess, which sailed from the American Samoa capital Pago Pago, has sheltered off Rangitoto Island since 6am on Monday.
The ship, which can carry more than 3500 passengers, was unable to safely anchor in the city.
Ferry services between downtown Auckland city and Pine Harbour were also cancelled on Monday morning as a result of of the wind.
Ports of Auckland spokesperson Julie Wagener said the cruise ship was safe and it was monitoring the weather for any changes.
"We're definitely keeping an eye on things, and we'll only bring the ship in once it's safe to do so," she said
"If winds pick up again midday today, then we will once again pause the Majestic Princess' arrival."
The ship was expected to dock later on Monday, Wagener said.
Passengers posted about the weather on social media, with one saying they had experienced winds at over 60 km/h.
