A Pacific mental health worker has won the Award of Honour from the New Zealand Nurses Organisation. (NZNO).
Sipaia Kupa was presented with the award at a presentation on Tuesday.
It is given to someone who has had a positive impact on nursing in New Zealand.
Ms Kupa is a New Zealand-trained nurse of Tokelaun, Cook Islands and Tuvaluan descent, who has worked mostly in the Pacific community in Wellington.
Ms Kupa said she was thankful to the Pacific Nurses Section for her nomination and to the NZNO for the award.
She paid tribute to teachers and family who had supported her work.
