The state's lieutenant governor, James Yangetmai, says the high school on the atoll of Ulithi was completely flattened by the typhoon, and won't be rebuilt before the end of the school year in June.

Mr Yangetmai says 32 senior students from Ulithi will travel to Yap so they can continue their study.

"We decided to bring the senior students from that high school to Yap where they will pick up where they left off before the typhoon and hopefully in two months when graduation time comes in June they will be able to walk."

James Yangetmai says the rest of the students will study at a temporary facility.
