A man charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found outside an Auckland police station has appeared in court.
Police said on 30 December, the 24-year-old man drove to Counties Manukau police station to speak to officers, and shortly afterwards, a body was found in a vehicle outside.
He was arrested and this morning appeared in Manukau District Court.
Judge Sharyn Otene granted the man name suppression and he was remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear in the Auckland High Court on 1 February.
"Stay strong," his brother yelled out in the courtroom at the end of the hearing.
"I love you. It's all right." he said.
The identity of the woman who was found dead has also been suppressed.
Police also conducted a scene examination at an address in Mona Avenue, Māngere Bridge last week in relation to the death.
