A senior executive of the outgoing Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority has been appointed to lead the unit that will replace it later this month.
Kelvan Smith's appointment as director of the Greater Christchurch Group was announced today.
The Group will lead and coordinate the government's role in the regeneration of greater Christchurch after the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority winds up 18 April.
Mr Smith's appointment followed the death of Michelle Mitchell in January just a few weeks after she was appointed as director.
