The National Party president says he has no concerns with how Clutha-Southland MP Todd Barclay is running his electorate, despite several resignations.
Two electorate staff members and the electorate chairman have resigned since Mr Barclay took over as MP last year.
Mr Barclay said it had been a steep learning curve for him as a new MP, and he had made some mistakes.
Party president Peter Goodfellow said the party was not looking into the resignations.
"The chairman hasn't rung me and that wouldn't be uncommon for a chairman to ring me - I actually do get chairman ringing me if they have serious concerns, and he didn't do so."
The Clutha-Southland electorate has to get used to having a different local member, Mr Goodfellow says.
