CNMI records two more local transmissions

The Northern Marianas now has 10 positive Covid-19 cases in the community after two more were identified through contact tracing on Monday.

Yesterday, the CNMI recorded its first local community case in 204 days.

The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation said over 50 people have been identified through contact tracing and everyone was tested, resulting in the confirmation of the two new cases, including the eight earlier ones.

The CNMI has now had 156 coronavirus cases since the first case was reported on March 28th last year.

Despite the 10 local cases, the hospital and the Covid-19 Task Force and said there is no high-risk for community transmission.
