A security guard in Los Angeles has shot and killed a fleeing gunman after a gunfight between rival Pacific Islander gangs at a Samoan Flag Day festival.
The Los Angeles Times newspaper reports that the incident, in the city of Carson, left two youths and a woman hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
The police say rival gang members at the annual celebration began fighting and at least two people then began shooting. .
Two boys, aged 12 and 13, and a 46 year-old woman, all Samoan, suffered injuries from which they are expected to recover.
Four years ago, another gang-related shooting at the annual celebration left a man dead.
