The owner of a Bay of Islands boatyard who's fighting for the use of a public reserve has asked the courts to gag his fiercest critic.
Doug Schmuck has been trying for fifteen years to legalise his use of part of a coastal reserve at Opua for boat yard activities.
His opponents include some community groups and the Green Party.
Mr Schmuck has asked the Kaikohe District Court for a restraining order under the Harassment Act against Opua man Mike Rashbrooke.
He says Mr Rashbrooke is constantly photographing his boatyard, bothering customers, and complaining about him to local councils.
The hearing is set down for next month.
