Fiji students involved in protests at a school last week will be suspended while the principal's request to be relocated has been granted, the Education Ministry says.
About 100 students at Ratu Kadavulevu School in Tailevu had boycotted classes citing differences with principal, Arvind Prasad.
The ministry said it was forced to close the school this week.
But it warned that staff involved in the protests would be investigated.
It is not clear how many students have been suspended and for how long.
But the FBC reported the ministry would provide counselling and academic support during their suspension.
The report said Prasad had sought his relocation and the ministry agreed.
Acting Director of Secondary Schools Iosefo Masivue has been appointed to head investigations and school operations until a new principal is named.
The ministry said two issues were being investigated - the allegations against the principal and the breach of the ministry's behaviour policy by the students.
It added students were to "refrain from such behavior and should not be led astray by unscrupulous elements".
The 700 student schools will reopen on Tuesday.
