New Caledonia voters have rejected independence from France

Voters in New Caledonia have rejected independence from France in a referendum boycotted by the pro-independence camp.

Unofficial results show more than 95 percent voted against independence in the third and last such plebiscite under the 1998 Noumea Accord.
