Police say the dangerous behaviour of a man on the run since February warrants the amount of resources poured into catching him.
William Stewart, 47, has been evading police in Canterbury for weeks. He is wanted in connection with a number of burglaries and car thefts.
Police say he is armed and is a regular user of the drug known as "P".
Senior Sergeant Stewart Munro says police have been doing all they can to try and catch him, but need more help from the public.
Mr Munro says people need to call 111 as soon as they see the fugitive. Several people have contacted police too late, allowing Mr Stewart enough time to move to another area.
