After nearly three weeks without a positive Covid-19 case, the Northern Marianas has announced a presumptive positive case discovered during mass testing.
A presumptive positive case means local testing, in this instance at the Saipan International Airport, was used to get the positive results.
The sample was now pending confirmation from the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Governor's Covid-19 Taskforce and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation identified the person as a 17-year-old male who presented no symptoms.
He was now isolated at the quarantine facility at Kanoa Resort and contact investigation had started.
There have been 14 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the CNMI, including two deaths.
